Almost all of the attention on blockchain technology has focused on its potential to transform the financial sector and other industries.  Little attention has been given to disputes related to blockchain technology that has begun to emerge and those that are likely to emerge in the future.  This session will examine the types of blockchain related disputes we are beginning to see (e.g., disputes regarding ICOs and smart contracts) and those that we can expect to see in the future (e.g., IP disputes).  It also will assess options for processing these disputes, including litigation in national courts, international arbitration, and emerging AI-based tools for dispute processing.

Like so many technology ‘advances,’ however, biotech is not without controversy, legal and ethical challenges.
