Moderator and Speaker Biographies

MODERATOR: Andras Gurovits

András specializes in technology (IT, telecoms, manufacturing) transactions (including acquisitions, outsourcing, development, procurement, distribution, regulatory), corporate (including governance), dispute resolution (including administrative proceedings) and sports. He regularly advises clients on contractual, compliance, governance, and disputes. He not only advises in these areas, but also represents clients before the competent regulatory and investigating authorities, state courts and arbitral tribunals."




Jonathan Fairtlough

Jonathan Fairtlough is a Managing Director with Kroll’s Cyber Security and Investigations practice, based in the Los Angeles office, from where he also leads client cyber engagements in Canada and throughout the Asia Pacific region. Jonathan joined Kroll after a distinguished career with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, where he served as both a prosecutor and Co-Founder of the Office’s High Technology Division. At Kroll, Jonathan leads teams that provide comprehensive investigative services for digital forensics, data breach response, and complex cyber-crimes.

Prior to joining Kroll, Jonathan was the Deputy in Charge of the Eastlake (Central) Juvenile Office. Earlier, he served as the Assistant Head Deputy and Co-Founder of the High Technology Division of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. During his career, Jonathan held a number of positions within the District Attorney’s Office and was involved in many high-profile cases, including the first major data breach filed in Los Angeles County for which he received the International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators (Southern California Chapter) award for Prosecutor of the Year in 2006.

Jonathan is an instructor for the National Computer Forensic Institute and an adjunct professor at Cypress College on the subject of cyber law and forensics.

Oliver Yaros:

Oliver Yaros is a partner in the Intellectual Property & IT Group, Cybersecurity & Data Privacy and Technology Transactions practices of the London office of Mayer Brown and advises clients on data privacy, technology transactions, outsourcing, IT, e-commerce and IP issues.  On data privacy matters, Oliver advises clients on how to conduct global privacy compliance projects, how to prepare for and respond to data breach events and data protection reform such as the GDPR and Privacy Shield, conflicts in laws that prevent international transfers, Brexit, using data in the context of fintech, digital and “Big Data” analytics initiatives as well as in connection with IT outsourcing.  Oliver also acts on global financial industry utility projects for banks relating to KYC, fintech and digital initiatives. Oliver is a Certified Information Privacy Professional in Europe (CIPP/E) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).


Nick Beckett

Nick is the Managing Partner of CMS Beijing and Head of Asia-Pacific IP.  Nick has extensive experience in advising on all aspects of IP, regulatory and commercial matters affecting clients internationally and his practice spans both contentious and non-contentious.  Nick has substantial experience in coordinating complex multi-jurisdictional matters, regularly working with colleagues throughout CMS and internationally.  His work in the areas of commercial, disputes, parallel trade, anti-counterfeiting, trademarks and patents and IP infringement is international.  Nick is a Solicitor-Advocate of the English Courts and a listed Arbitrator at the Beijing International Arbitration Centre (BIAC) and Beijing Arbitration Commission (BAC).



Michael Wong

 Michael is a member of the Global Banking and Financial Markets team, IBM Global Business Services, specializing in Blockchain and Financial Markets. Michael has a background in working with businesses to leverage cutting edge technology in the Financial Markets. Having previously been a developer, IT architect and technical strategist, his experience includes end to end solutions design and delivery in core exchange and trading systems in London and New York. Currently his specialisms include blockchain technology and is the lead for Blockchain Business Development for IBM based in Hong Kong; working with Fintechs and established financial organisations to explore applications of blockchain.
