There are numerous, complex statutes pertaining to computer fraud. First, 18 U.S.C. §1029 addresses “fraud and related activities in connection with access devices.” 18 U.S.C. §1030(a)(4) criminalizes the accessing of a computer without or in excess of authorization with intent to defraud and obtain value.
