As per Article 11 of the Cyber Crimes Law any person who captures for himself or for a third party without right on a movable asset, benefit, document or a signature by using any fraudulent method or by taking a false name or impersonation of a false capacity through the Information Network, Electronic Information System or any of the Information Technology Tool shall be punished by imprisonment for a period not less than one year and a fine not less than (AED 250,000) and not exceeding (AED 1,000,000). Further, Article 12 states that any person who unlawfully reaches by using the Information Network or Electronic Information System or any of the Information Technology Tool to the numbers or statements or a credit or electronic card or statements of bank accounts or any means of electronic payment shall be punished by imprisonment for a period not less than six months and a fine not less than (AED 100,000) and not exceeding (AED 300,000) if it was intended to use the statements and numbers to obtain the money of third party of benefiting from the services related. If this resulted in capturing for himself or third party money owned for third party the punishment shall be imprisonment for a period not less than one year and a fine not less than (AED 200,000) and not exceeding (AED 1,000,000). The punishment will be the same for any person who published or re published the numbers or statements or a credit or electronic card or the numbers or statements of bank accounts of third party or any other means of electronic payment.
Further, any person who uses without permission any Information Network, Electronic Site or Information Technology Tool to expose Confidential Information obtained by occasion or because of his work shall be punished by imprisonment for a period not less than six months and a fine not less than (AED 500,000) and not exceeding (AED 1,000,000) or by any of these punishments.
