1.3 Which authorities are responsible for enforcing the regulations under 1.1 and 1.2? What kind of legal instruments / rights are they furnished with (fines, audit/investigation rights, etc.)?
Survey Answer:

The various authorities under the regulations mentioned in 1.1 and 1.2 are:
(i) Commissioner of Data Protection under DIFC Data Protection Law;
(ii) ADGM Registration Authority (“Registrar”) under the ADGM Data Protection Regulation;
(iii) Supreme Council for National Security under NESA;
(iv) Cyber Crime Law and Information Security Policy;
(v) NESA under the Supreme Council for National Security.
