As indicated above, supervision is typically divided depending on sector. With reference to the examples given in sections 3.1 above:
The Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (Sw. Finansinspektionen) supervises financial institutions. It has the power to for example
• Demand information
• Intervene by imposing limitations or bans
• Withdraw licenses
• Impose (substantial) fines
The supervisory authorities may combine their powers with monetary penalties (fines).
Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (Sw. Post- och telestyrelsen) supervises the electronic communications (and postal) sector in Sweden. It has the power to for example
• Demand information if necessary to investigate compliance (in certain respects)
• Access premises
• In case of (serious) risks, intervene by imposing limitations or bans
• Withdraw licenses
The supervisory authorities may combine their powers with monetary penalties (fines).
