Computer Fraud is the only computer crime within the realm of cyber security in North Dakota. However, the statute is fairly broad, and encompasses a wide array of activities. Such activities may include altering, damaging, modifying, copying, disclosing, taking possession of, or destroying any computer, computer system, computer network, or any part of the computer, system, or network, without authorization. Moreover, the same statute also criminalizes the intentional modifying, disclosing, copying, or taking of data contained within a computer. Violation of the statute is not only criminal, but opens a perpetrator to civil liability as well. N.D. Cent. Code. § 12.1-06.1-08.
