Section 211 of CMA prohibits the provision of false content by a content applications service provider or persons using a content applications service, whereas section 233 of the CMA provides that any person who uses a network facility or network service or applications service to make, create, solicit, and initiate the transmission of false communications commits an offence.
However, section 211 and 233 are not specific to the faking of documentations / data that are technical in nature, and apply equally to non-technical documentation / data which have been falsified.
In addition, where faking of technical documents / data is carried out for the purposes of cheating by personation, i.e. in order to cheat by pretending to be some other person etc. as explained in Item 5.6 above, such act would be punishable under section 416 of the Penal Code.
