The Basic Law: Human Dignity and Liberty declares that the basic human rights in Israel are based the value of individuals, the sanctity of life and freedom. This Basic Law states that there shall be no violation of the property of a person. All persons have the right to privacy. There shall be no entry into the private premises of a person who has not consented thereto. There shall be no violation of the confidentiality of conversation, or of the writings or records of a person. There shall be no violation of rights under this Basic Law except by an Act which is in accordance with the values of the State of Israel, that is enacted for a proper purpose and that is harmful to the values to an extent no greater than is required.
