Article 171 of the Brazilian Penal Code addresses types of fraud, whether committed through the computer network or not, and applied to computer fraud in Brazil.
Depending on the modus operandi of computer fraud, prosecutors and members of the Judiciary have also used article 155, paragraph 4, item II, of the Brazilian Penal Code.
