No direct equivalent under Australian law. However, this may be captured under section 478.1(1) of the Criminal Code, which states that it is an offence to intentionally cause unauthorised access to restricted data. Restricted Data includes any data that is held in a computer to which access is restricted by an access control system associated with a function of the computer. This offence carries a maximum penalty of 2 years’ imprisonment.
It may also be captured under the general fraud offences, discussed above.
