Richard Allan Horning has been representing technology companies since 1970, from classic "garage-based" start-ups to Fortune 50 multi-nationals.  He counsels clients on domestic and international issues, including financing growth and development, securing, protecting and licensing intellectual property rights, supply and distribution relationships including antitrust and unfair competition considerations, and dispute resolution affecting technology-driven industries.

Mr. Horning has been a guest lecturer at universities in Europe and the Americas.  He is included in Who's Who of Internet and E-Commerce Lawyers, listed as a Northern California Intellectual Property Super Lawyer, 2004-2007, and appears in Guide to the U.S. Leading Lawyers -- Best of the Best 2006De Facto magazine recognized his work advising venture-backed start-ups.

Mr. Horning is a Past President of ITechLaw and serves on Advisory Boards to several technology law publications, as well as advising the Innovation Journalism Program at Stanford and MentoNet.  He has written numerous articles on Internet law. 

Mr. Horning was educated at the University of California, Berkeley (B.A.) and Duke University School of Law (J.D.).  He served as Law Clerk to Judge Oliver D. Hamlin, Jr., United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
