Richard L. Gabriel chairs his firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group.  He has a national litigation practice focusing on intellectual property litigation and commercial litigation of all kinds.  He has handled significant copyright and trademark litigation for clients including Michael Jackson, Sony BMG Music, Universal Music Group, EMI, Warner Music, Zomba Music, and the Colorado Rockies. 

Mr. Gabriel's intellectual property experience spans a broad range, including cases involving music, sculptures, videos, medical lasers and laser surgery, counterfeit works of art, and information technology.  He is currently serving as lead national counsel for the Recording Industry Association of America in its members’ lawsuits against those who copy and distribute sound recordings through unauthorized file-sharing networks. 

Mr. Gabriel has been listed as a Colorado Super Lawyer and as one of Chambers’ Leading Lawyers for Business, and he is a life member of the National Registry of Who’s Who.  In addition, he has been named to the “Best of Class” of American intellectual property lawyers by bestofus.com, and he was named the 2007 Intellectual Property Lawyer of the Year by Law Week Colorado and as a 2007 Lawyer of the Year by Lawyers USA.
