John Muleta
Founder, CEO and Board Member of M2Z Networks, Inc.; Arlington, Virginia

 

John Muleta is a successful Internet entrepreneur who is committed to bringing the benefits of the broadband age to the American people.  In addition to his entrepreneurial activities, Mr. Muleta, who is an immigrant from Ethiopia, has previously distinguished himself in career positions with the United States government. 

Mr. Muleta was most recently partner and co-Chair of the Communications Practice at Venable LLP.  He was previously head of the FCC’s Wireless Telecommunications Bureau and was responsible for implementing policies regarding consumer wireless services and public safety radio networks.  He also worked at the FCC's Common Carrier Bureau in several capacities, including Deputy Bureau Chief and Chief of the Bureau’s Enforcement Division. 

Mr. Muleta has a distinguished private-sector record as an entrepreneur, most prominently with PSINet, Inc., a leading commercial Internet Services Provider.  He headed PSINet’s infrastructure-provisioning organization, served as President of PSINet’s India, Middle East and Africa unit and as President of PSINet Ventures.

In addition to M2Z Networks, Mr. Muleta serves on the Boards of First Avenue Networks and HRSmart. Additionally, he serves on the advisory boards of PacketHop, Inc. and Visto, Inc.
