Gregg Kirchhoefer
Partner, Kirkland & Ellis LLP; Chicago

Gregg Kirchhoefer is responsible for his firm’s intellectual property/technology transactions practice group in Chicago.  Building on work experience in the computer industry, Mr. Kirchhoefer’s practice is focused on transactional and counseling matters primarily involving information technology, telecommunications, biotechnology, other technology and intellectual property, corporate and commercial issues.

Mr. Kirchhoefer has handled hundreds of outsourcing transactions, including some of the largest, most comprehensive outsourcing transactions in history.  Kirkland’s experience in outsourcing matters predates the use of the term “outsourcing” (e.g., facilities management) and dates back to the late 1980s for both business process outsourcing (BPO) and offshore transactions.

Mr. Kirchhoefer’s experience covers all aspects of IT and telecommunications outsourcing, BPO (including human resources, recruiting process, procurement, finance and accounting, research and development, clinical trial, engineering, call center, risk management, logistics, and other functions), and contract manufacturing and supply chain management.  He has represented both service providers and customers in manufacturing, services, financial, and other businesses that seek to outsource critical functions.
