Stéphane Lemarchand is Joint Head of the firm's International IT Sector Group and of its International Outsourcing Group. He also leads the firm's French IT Sector Group. He has postgraduate qualifications in intellectual property law and IT and New Technologies Law from the University of Paris II and XI. He is also an expert in IT law and copyright matters.
Mr. Lemarchand has drafted and negotiated a range of IT and E-Commerce contracts and assisted clients in litigation matters involving IT and Internet issues, specializing in software infringement, unfair competition, breach of contracts and domain names. He also assists technology service providers and large companies in the context of their strategic projects and he has acquired extensive experience in international outsourcing.
He has advised clients on IT/E-Commerce and Internet regulation and regularly writes for publications such as La Semaine Juridique and Expertises. He is also co-author of the French part of Graham Smith’s textbook Internet Law and Regulation (Sweet & Maxwell 1996, 1997).
Mr. Lemarchand is a member of several professional associations, including ITechLaw, where he is a member of the Board of Directors, and the French Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications Law (AFDIT), where he is also a member of the Board.
