Eugene M. Weitz
Corporate Counsel, Alcatel-Lucent; Whippany, N.J.

Eugene Weitz is the lead attorney advising Alcatel-Lucent’s global corporate IT organization and global Information and Record Management and Competitive Intelligence programs.  He also is a member of Alcatel-Lucent’s global data privacy team.  As part of his role as IT technology legal advisor, and as part of his sub-specialty in outsourcing and other complex IT transactions, he also supports Alcatel-Lucent’s Services division as an advisor.  When not supporting clients, he is responsible for orchestrating and leading Alcatel-Lucent’s Global Law Department’s Knowledge Management and Training programs.

Prior to joining Alcatel-Lucent, he was a member of the Law Department of Atos Origin SA, a European IT outsourcing and professional consulting firm, where he served as Regional General Counsel, responsible for all firm legal matters in North America, Asia Pacific and the Middle East.  

Mr. Weitz is a frequent speaker at legal conferences and events regarding information technology law.  Recently, he has been speaking on the future of professional online networking for lawyers.  He is an active member of the Association of Corporate Counsel, serves on the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Corporate Counsel Association (NJCCA) and is a member of ITechLaw.

Mr. Weitz received a B.A. degree in Government and Law from Lafayette College and his J.D. from Widener University School of Law.  He is a member of the New York and Connecticut Bars and holds a Limited License in New Jersey.
