Charles Morgan is a partner in the Technology Law section of the firm’s Business Law Group. Mr. Morgan’s domestic corporate/commercial practice focuses on assisting with complex transactions in the areas of technology M&A, business process and IT outsourcing, technology transfer, licensing, e-commerce, data protection and telecommunications.
In his international telecommunications practice, Mr. Morgan has assisted numerous governments and telecommunications regulatory authorities, whether for law reform, regulatory strategy, fixed and mobile licensing, and interconnection or universal service projects in a variety of countries, including Algeria, Burkina Faso, Kenya, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique and Saudi Arabia.
Mr. Morgan is co-author of Cyberlaw: What You Need to Know about Doing Business Online (Stoddart; 1997); Communications Law in Canada (Butterworths; 2000); Halsbury’s Laws of Canada – Communications (LexisNexis; 2007); and E‑mail Law (LexisNexis - IT Law series; pending publication). He is a contributor to the book Data Protection Laws of the World (Sweet & Maxwell; 2000) and a contributor to the book The Law of Privacy in Canada (Carswell, 2000). He is admitted to the Québec bar.
