Sajai Singh

Sajai Singh has been with J.Sagar Associates for more than twenty-one years and undertakes transactional work with a focus on representing emerging technology companies in areas of inbound investments in India, venture capital (VC) and private equity (PE) investments, joint ventures, strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions. In venture funding and private equity transactions, Mr. Singh has represented both funds and investee companies. During his career he has represented clients in a cross section of industries including Life Science, Biotechnology, Medical Devices and Communication.
                                 
He has assisted many international businesses and funds to funnel investments in India. These clients include established and high technology companies, Internet start-ups, connectivity specialists, e-commerce ventures, conversion technology and technology based entertainment industries. He leads the Firm’s Technology Licensing Practice, as well as the Firm’s knowledge Based Industries Practice. Mr. Singh’s work requires him to actively work with the offices of various regulators, including the Drug Controller General of India, specifically for medical devices, pharmaceutical and clinical trial clients.

While he advises clients on a variety of legal and business issues, Mr. Singh’s particular expertise is in complex strategic partnering transactions and mergers and acquisitions. He also represents companies and investors in private financings, strategic investments, and spin-outs. He is known for working closely with clients as an integral part of the management team in setting strategic direction, and structuring and negotiating mission-critical transactions. Mr. Singh’s combination of business and legal experience covers the full spectrum of transactions and issues facing Technology, especially Life Sciences companies.
