Reinoud Westerdijk

Reinoud Westerdijk specializes in international contracts ('the more complicated, the better'), IT law, e-commerce and public procurement law. His practice areas include IT contracts, public procurement, e-commerce, international contracts, and product liability. He is recommended in Legal 500 ("Reinoud Westerdijk is rated [as a] specialist in the field"), European Legal Experts 2010 (mentioned in IP, IT and telecoms sections), and Who's Who Legal 2009 (recommended in the fields of Internet and e-commerce).

Mr. Westerdijk studied law at the University of Leiden. He then worked at the Computer Law Institute of the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, where he completed his doctorate in law with a thesis on product liability for software and information. He joined Kennedy Van der Laan in 1994.

He has taught post-graduate IT and public procurement law at Grotius Academy and IT law at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He is a member of the Dutch Association of IT attorneys (VIRA), the Dutch Association for IT and Law (NVvIR), and the Dutch Association for Public Procurement Law. He is a Board Member of EuroITcounsel, and he serves as a local representative for ITechLaw.
