Kees Stuurman

Kees Stuurman is the partner in charge of the Information Technology Group and the Outsourcing Team at his firm. He is also professor of Information Technology Regulation at the Institute for Law, Technology and Society (TILT) of Tilburg Law School. He regularly assists clients in IT transactions, ranging from providing advice in the preparation and contracting phase to litigation in IT disputes. He has extensive experience in outsourcing, IT and telecommunications contracting, and public procurement in IT.

He is often involved in complex ICT projects and is skilled in operating in multidisciplinary teams. As a specialist in ICT-related legislation and regulations, he has extensive experience in advising clients with regard to Internet and e-commerce-related issues (including electronic contracting, website compliance and electronic signatures), privacy, corporate data retention, open source, IT governance and IT security. He is also an expert in the field of IT standardization and certification, and technical regulations.

His clients are IT suppliers and IT users in both the private and public sectors (including local and national government) and the healthcare sector.

Mr. Stuurman received master's degrees in physics and law and his Ph.D from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Author of numerous articles, he is a regular speaker on IT-related matters at national and international conferences. Recent topics include ambient intelligence, cloud computing and outsourcing. He is consistently recognized as one of the leaders in the field in the Netherlands by various publications, such as Legal 500 and Chambers.
