Joerg Kahler

Joerg Kahler's main area of practice is information technology law and intellectual property law, with an emphasis on copyright and internet-related claims as well as unfair competition claims. He acts for well-known domestic and international clients, in particular in the aviation, automotive and entertainment sectors, and he assists them in both contentious and non-contentious matters.

He has a wide range of experience advising on innovative technology projects for IT suppliers and IT users as well as for providers and customers of outsourcing services. His practice also regularly includes assisting technology-related mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions.

Mr. Kahler is an experienced litigator in cases involving aspects of information technology and intellectual property. Among his clients is a leading European air carrier. He is involved in the protection of the direct online distribution system of this airline, and he represents this company in several pending precedent litigations concerning the "screen scraping" of its booking website.

He attended law school at the Universities of Berlin, Tuebingen and Freiburg, and he has obtained his doctorate in law. He is admitted to the German bar in 1999. Mr. Kahler contributes regularly to publications on information technology and intellectual property issues, and he lectures on these issues as well.
