Francoise Gilbert

Ms. Gilbert's core practice focuses on matters in which personal data and sensitive information assets are key factors. She has considerable experience with all aspects of data privacy and security compliance and regulatory matters, and she advises companies on how to strategically manage their privacy, security, electronic workplace, and e-business legal risks. Other key experience includes advising on outsourcing, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS and cloud-based offerings. 

Ms. Gilbert is known internationally for her expertise in data privacy and security. The 2010 Edition of Chambers says that she is "superb on international issues." For several years, she has been selected by her peers for inclusion in Chambers Global, Best Lawyers in America, Who's Who of Internet & e-Commerce Lawyers, and Global Who's Who.

Ms. Gilbert is the author and editor of the two-volume treatise Global Privacy and Security Law, distributed by Aspen Publishing/Wolters Kluwer, which analyzes the data privacy and data protection laws in more than 60 countries, on all continents. She serves as the General Counsel of the Cloud Security Alliance.

A member of the Board of Directors of the International Technology Law Association, Ms. Gilbert founded and launched the Association's I-WIN Committee, which focuses on the needs of women technology lawyers worldwide. She also serves on the Editorial Board and the Technical Advisory Board of The Practical Lawyer (ALI-ABA).
