Marek Szydłowski has been of counsel at the Polish law firm Wardyński and Partners, where he heads the TMT practice group and the privacy and data protection practice groups, since 2009. He advises on telecommunications, IT, data protection, media, copyright and advertising laws. He also has wide experience in the areas of company law, capital markets law and labor law.
Between 1993 and 2000 he worked in law firms as a junior and senior lawyer, advising on M&A, and consumer finance. Between 2000 and 2002, he was the legal director and a member of the management board of a consumer finance company and from 2002 until 2009, he was the general counsel at Agora, then Poland’s largest media group, where he advised on media, telecommunications and IT laws and managed a 10 lawyer legal department.Mr. Szydłowski graduated from the Department of Law and Administration at Warsaw University and is admitted to practice law in Poland as a radca prawny. He also holds an MBA degree from a Polish business school. Mr. Szydłowski is also a member of the Polish Copyright Commission and the official electronic media market expert of the Polish Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications.
