Jürg Schneider
Counsel, Walder Wyss Ltd; Zurich, Switzerland

Jürg Schneider is a counsel on the Information Technology, Intellectual Property, and Competition Team of Walder Wyss Ltd.  With more than 15 years of practice, he advises national and multi-national companies in all legal aspects of information technology, with a  particular focus on data protection and information security.  Mr. Schneider has extensive experience with cross-border outsourcings, the structuring of international data flows, and international data protection compliance strategies.

Prior to joining Walder Wyss Ltd, Mr. Schneider worked at a law firm in Neuchâtel and as a research assistant at the University of Neuchâtel, where he earned his law and doctoral degree.  He is admitted to the Swiss Bar and is listed in the International Who’s Who of E-Commerce, Internet & Data Protection Lawyers.

Mr. Schneider regularly lectures and publishes on IT law topics, particularly in the field of data protection.  He is also co-author of the website www.dataprotection.ch, which is dedicated to Swiss data protection law, and a contributor to the Data Protection Comparative Guide for International Privacy Law of ITechLaw.
