Major deals
Over the years Clive has acted for a variety of blue-chip clients in the private and public sectors. In particular, he has acted on a number of IT PFI outsourcing projects since the mid 1990's including one of the first to be completed involving the supply of communication services to the Army. He acted for Steria in the successful conclusion of a pathfinder PFI contract for Norwich City Council involving ICT and BPO services facilitating e-government. He has also been involved in parts of the recent NHS National Programme for IT procurement. He worked for Land Securities Trillium on key stages of their contract to provide property outsourcing services to the DVLA.


Career History
Clive has a unique perspective on commercial advice having spent the first half of his career in industry including spells at Exxon and ICL (Fujitsu) where he developed his interest in and enthusiasm for IT and outsourcing. This experience has resulted in Clive taking a solutions oriented approach. In 1990 Clive joined DJ Freeman where he was head of their IT team gaining an immense variety of IT experience until joining Olswang in May of 2003.

Clive writes and lectures frequently on IT issues. He is an editor of Communications Law. Published material includes:
- Society for Computers and Law Magazine - Pricing Models in IT Service Contracts;
- IT Law Today - Negotiating the Schedules in IT and Outsourcing Contracts;
- Communications Law - IT and BPO Contracts.
Clive is a trustee of the Society for Computers and the Law and an active participant in Intellect working groups developing codes of best practice for IT contracting in the public sector.
