Bio:
Mr. Béjot is a partner with the Paris law firm of Bernard-Hertz-Béjot, and head of the firm's intellectual property practice group, which is specialized in the areas of software licensing, internet and electronic commerce, but also advertising and distribution, trademark and copyright. In addition to his work in the field of intellectual property and advertising, Mr. Béjot conducts a wide-ranging commercial and corporate practice for clients doing business in Europe, and in particular for American companies investing in France. His experience extends to mergers, finance, distribution and information technology issues.
Mr. Béjot received his doctorate degree from the University of Dijon in 1974. Mr. Béjot also holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Dijon, worked for the Max Planck Institut in Hamburg in 1973-74 and attended the New York University Law School, graduating in 1976.
Mr. Béjot is a member of the Paris Bar since 1978, on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Internet Law and on the Board of Directors of the European-American Chamber of Commerce; he is the French representative of the Global Advertising Lawyers Alliance, a member of the ITechLaw Association and the International Trademark Association.
Mr. Béjot practiced at the law offices of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, in New York, in 1976-1977 and in Paris since 1978. He has a long experience with European, North American and South American clients and is fluent in French, English and German. Mr. Béjot is often engaged as a speaker on IT, IP and marketing related matters.
