Eugene Weitz presently advises on information governance, including data security and data privacy and all other legal matters of interest to the Office of the CIO. Mr. Weitz concurrently leads the CSC legal department’s Global Legal Knowledge Management program, which covers the ongoing development of a global intranet strategy as a resource for the legal department and clients. Previously, he was a member of the Alcatel-Lucent law department, where he supported many internal clients on matters relating to advanced technology law, including both vendor- and customer-side outsourcing and professional services. Prior to that, he was Regional General Counsel at Atos Origin, where he was responsible for all legal activities in North America and Asia-Pacific. Earlier, he provided similar in-house legal services at Royal Philips Electronics.
Mr. Weitz serves on the ITechLaw Board of Directors and is Chair of the In-House Lawyer/Legal Counsel Committee. He has also been an active member of the Association of Corporate Counsel, and he is on the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Corporate Counsel Association. He is a regular speaker on topics in technology law and corporate law department management.
Mr. Weitz received a B.A. degree in Government and Law from Lafayette College and a J.D. from Widener University School of Law (Delaware Law School). He is a member of the New York and Connecticut Bars and holds a Limited License to practice law in-house in New Jersey.
