Kate Andresen practices in the firm's Information Technology and E-commerce Practice Group. For the past 15+ years she has assisted clients with their complex transactional needs. Her practice is focused on representation of regulated entities subject to Federal privacy regulations such as HIPAA and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. She continues to focus on corporate transactions, information technology licensing and e-commerce agreements.
Ms. Andresen is admitted to practice in the State and Federal courts of Minnesota, and the Eighth Circuit. She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and she holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from Boston University; she also engaged in graduate studies in International Law at McGeorge School of Law.She is a longtime member of the Minnesota State Bar (participating in the Computer & Technology Law Section, of which she is a former chair), the American Bar Association and ITechLaw. She is a frequent writer and lecturer, both nationally and internationally. She is the author and editor of The Law and Business of Computer Software (Thomson West, 2007-2011). Prior to law school, Ms. Andresen worked as a systems engineer, as well as a linguist in military intelligence
