Roland Mathys holds degrees in computer science from Zurich University and in law from Basel University, as well as a LL.M. in information technology law from the London School of Economics (LSE). Since 2008, he is partner at the major Swiss business law firm Wenger Plattner where he heads the firm’s ICT/IP/Competition practice group.
Mr. Mathys avails of many years of professional experience in information technology law. He is co-author of a landmark publication on ICT contract law, soon to be published in a new edition. As a practicing lawyer, he acts at the forefront of emerging technologies. He is also closely linked to academic and industry representatives in the field of new technologies.
Mr. Mathys frequently speaks at national and international conferences on technology law. He occasionally serves as a university lecturer. He has recently been appointed as arbitrator and expert of the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Centre. Mr. Mathys is recommended by Chambers, The Legal 500 and Who’s Who Legal as expert in the fields of ICT, internet, e-commerce and data protection.
In summer 2014, Roland Mathys will join one of Switzerland’s biggest and leading business law firms to become partner for technology law.
