Charles Lee Mudd Jr. has operated his own law firm, Mudd Law, since 2001. In the last 13 years, the firm has grown to become an internationally recognized diversified practice providing representation to a clientele of local, national, and international individuals and business organizations, particularly focused on Internet, cyber, and emerging technology issues.
For more than thirteen years, Mr. Mudd has been significantly involved in Internet and technology-related transactional matters and litigation throughout the United States at both the trial and appellate levels. In addition to appearing before federal circuit courts, he filed two writs for certiorari with the United States Supreme Court on Internet issues. He also drafted legislation, that has since been enacted, seeking amendments to the Illinois eavesdropping statute as well as other Internet matters.
He currently serves as an adjunct faculty member at John Marshall Law School in Chicago where he has taught privacy and technology courses and guest lectures. He also guest lectures at DePaul University, College of Law, in Chicago.
Apart from practicing law, Mr. Mudd has been an active member of the legal community. He serves as Chair of the Social Media & Gaming Committee for the International Technology Law Association. He has served as Chair for the Intellectual Property Section of the Illinois State Bar Association and as a member of the Utah State Bar’s Cyberlaw Section. Recently, Charles was selected for inclusion in the 2014 Illinois edition of Super Lawyers.
