Christine Ing joined the partnership in 2003 and has been Co-Practice Group Leader of the Firm’s National Technology group since the beginning of 2013. Her practice focuses on commercial transactions involving information technology and intellectual property. She has extensive experience in all aspects of information technology law and has acted as lead counsel in a wide variety of complex technology transactions, including outsourcing, cloud services, systems and software acquisitions, system implementation, system development and licensing. She also has specialized expertise in the IT security area.
Having a strong background in intellectual property, Ms. Ing’s work includes technology-based joint ventures and strategic alliances, teaming arrangements and patent and other technology licensing in a broad range of industries, including financial services, insurance and pharmaceutical.
Ms. Ing has been recognized in Chambers Global: The World’s Leading Lawyers for Business (2012 and 2013) in the area of Information Technology. She has also been recognized as a leading Canadian lawyer by Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) magazine in IAM Patent 1000: The World’s Leading Patent Practitioners Lawyers (2012 and 2013) and IAM Licensing 250: The World’s Leading Patent and Technology Licensing Lawyers (2012). Ms. Ing speaks regularly in the areas of outsourcing, cloud computing and cybersecurity.
