Merchant Taylors' Hall

Merchant Taylors' HallAbout Merchant Taylors' Hall
Since 1347, Merchant Taylors’ Hall has been located at its present site in the heart of the City of London, between Threadneedle Street and Cornhill. Despite the Great Fire in 1666 and the Blitz in World War II, both of which severely damaged parts of the building, many elements have been preserved and the building wonderfully restored. The building’s age and character make this a warm and welcoming venue while the high and open ceiling gives a great sense of space.

As the historic meeting place for a close-knit guild that thrived for centuries by dint of communal effort, training and the sharing of information and professional experience, Merchant Taylors’ is a perfect venue for the ITechLaw conference.

Who were the Merchant Taylors?
They were originally involved in the making of padded under garments for suits of armor and tailoring.
