Kiran gained her law degree at the London School of Economics and qualified as a lawyer in 1984. She is a partner in London law firm, Mishcon de Reya and is head of the firm's Information Technology Group.
Kiran is recognised as a leading IT lawyer in the UK.
Kiran advises on a wide range of IT matters often with a multi-jurisdictional aspect. Her expertise spans all aspects of IT, technology and communications related law including: outsourcing, software development and licensing, systems supply and procurement, strategic alliances, IP protection strategies, data protection and privacy, digital delivery and all internet/e-business related issues. Her clients range from new businesses to multi-national companies.
Kiran is recognised as an expert in IT and E-Commerce law in Legal Experts 2006 (the latest edition) and is a board member of the International Technology Law Association. Kiran speaks and writes regularly on IT related matters. She has commented on technology related issues for the BBC and CNN and she has spoken at a number of high profile conferences including the NASSCOM annual leadership forum in Mumbai. Kiran has had articles published in a number of specialist journals such as E-commerce Law and Policy as well as in the international press (including in the Financial Times).
