Jay Westermeier is a partner in DLA Piper's Northern Virginia office. He has been involved in all aspects of information technology law and represents emerging and established software, Internet, electronic commerce, and other information technology companies, as well as information technology users and suppliers.

Mr. Westermeier is a past president of the International Technology Law Association, Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and 2001 Burton Award recipient. He serves on the advisory boards for The Computer Law Reporter, E-Commerce Law & Strategy, BNA's Computer Technology Law, BNA's Electronic Commerce & Law, Intellectual Property Counselor and Internet Law and Business. He is the co-founder of the Virginia Information Technology Legal Institute.
