Robert M. Weiss is a member of his firm's Information Technology Practice Group. His practice focuses on complex technology transactions. He represents clients worldwide in a variety of matters, including technology development and licensing projects, ERP implementations, infrastructure and business process outsourcings, systems integrations, ASP and Web hosting agreements, and telecommunications procurements.
Mr. Weiss has practiced exclusively in the area of information technology law for over a decade. He speaks and writes regularly on subjects associated with information technology. He has published articles and been quoted in many newspapers, journals and other media outlets, including the Los Angeles Times, CNN Money, CFO Magazine, Computerworld, Journal of Internet Law, the University of Virginia Journal of Law and Technology, and the Health Information Privacy/Security Alert.
His professional honors include selection as one of America’s Leading Lawyers for Business in Technology and IT Outsourcing by Chambers USA (2006-Present); as one of the top lawyers in the U.S.A. in Information Technology Law by The Best Lawyers in America (2007-2009); and as one of “40 under 40” outstanding Illinois attorneys by Daily Law Bulletin.
He is a member of the Board of Directors of ITechLaw, and he is a former chairman of the Chicago Bar Association's Computer Law Committee. He graduated magna cum laude from Dartmouth College with a B.A. degree and he earned his J.D. from Stanford Law School.
