Rory J. Radding

Rory J. Radding is head of his firm's New York IP/Patent Group. He was formerly a senior partner with Pennie & Edmonds LLP. Prior to practicing law, he was a pharmaceutical chemist with Wellcome Research Laboratory and a catalysis chemist with Union Carbide Corporation. Mr. Radding is a graduate of Hamilton College and of the Albany Law School of Union University, and he is admitted to practice in the State of New York.
Mr. Radding has litigated diverse patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret cases, acting for both plaintiffs and defendants. He has acted as lead trial counsel before Federal trial and appellate Courts throughout the United States, and before the United States International Trade Commission. He is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Occasionally, instead of litigation, he employs alternate dispute resolution techniques to achieve favorable results.
He is an accomplished negotiator in transnational transactional matters including mergers and acquisitions, the establishment of joint ventures, and international and domestic technology transfer, including licensing as well as collaborative research agreements and equity financing. He is well known for developing global intellectual property strategies.
Mr. Radding is a member of the New York State Bar Association, a Fellow of the New York Bar Foundation, and a participant in numerous other organizations and legal associations. He is listed in The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers; New York Super Lawyers 2007; and Best Lawyers in America 2008.
