Dr. Marco Hartmann-Rüppel is partner in the Hamburg and Brussels offices of the international law firm Taylor Wessing. He advises German and international clients on all aspects of EU and German competition law, particularly in the areas of antitrust investigations, abuse of dominance and merger control. In addition to the legal representation before national and EU courts and competition authorities, his practice also focuses on the structuring of co-operation (particularly technology transfer, R&D) and licensing/distribution agreements. His extensive experience also includes the implementation of competition compliance programmes. He has special expertise in the areas of technology, communication and media as well as infrastructure.

Dr. Hartmann-Rüppel studied law and economics in Göttingen (Germany) und Leuven (Belgium). He holds a doctorate in law (EU merger control) and a diploma in economics.

Dr. Hartmann-Rüppel regularly publishes articles and lectures on various subjects of antitrust and merger control law as well as on EU economic law. He is member of the Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht, co-founder of the Hamburger Forum Kartellrecht and member of the "GRUR" (the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property). He was also a member of the former technology transfer expert group of the BDI (Federation of German Industries). He teaches competition law at the Humboldt University of Berlin.
