Lokke Moerel

Lokke Moerel heads De Brauw’s Privacy practice and provides strategic advice to both Netherlands- and foreign-based multinationals on structuring their e-business and privacy compliance on a worldwide basis.

During 2000-2002 she worked with Linklaters London, where she was the partner heading up the teams for worldwide outsourcing transactions and major procurement projects with a high IT content. In the Netherlands, Ms. Moerel represents a number of prominent international software, hardware and chips companies in both their contentious and commercial IT issues (including worldwide outsourcing and privacy).

Ms. Moerel has written and contributed to the standard practitioners' works in this field and published for Kluwer publishers the first textbooks on online advertising (2002) and international outsourcing (2006). She is arbitrator and registered mediator with the WIPO and the Dutch Foundation for the Settlement of Automation disputes. Ms. Moerel is a (former board) member of the Dutch Association of Information Technology Lawyers, member of the Supervisory Board of the Dutch Breast Cancer Foundation Pink Ribbon, the Dutch World Wild Life Foundation and the Rembrandt Association.
