Eugene Weitz, until the end of September 2009, when he declared his free agency, was a member of the Alcatel-Lucent Law Department and has supported many internal clients relating to advanced technology law, including serving as the lead attorney advising Alcatel-Lucent’s global corporate IT organization, acting as the lead lawyer for Alcatel-Lucent’s global Information and Record Management and Competitive Intelligence programs and as North American Counsel to Alcatel-Lucent’s Global Data Privacy and Data Protection team. He also was a member of Alcatel-Lucent’s Global E-Discovery Governance team.
As part of Mr. Weitz’s specialty in outsourcing, systems integration and other complex IT transactions, he has acted in the capacity as both a vendor and customer lawyer as he also supported Alcatel-Lucent’s Services division where Mr. Weitz was previously responsible for providing legal services to their Managed Services and Professional Services groups.
In addition, Mr. Weitz has been an active member of the ACC, currently holding a position on the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Corporate Counsel Association (NJCCA). He is also an active member of the International Technology Law Association (formerly the Computer Law Association) and recently was appointed Co-Chair of the In-House Lawyer/Legal Counsel Committee. Mr. Weitz also serves on the Leadership Committee of the Technology Law Committee of the NJCCA and a LexisNexis National Corporate Counsel Advisory Board.
Mr. Weitz received a B.A. degree in Government and Law from Lafayette College and his J.D. from Widener University School of Law (Delaware Law School). He is a member of the New York and Connecticut Bar and holds a Limited License to practice law in-house in New Jersey.
