William A. Tanenbaum
William A. Tanenbaum is the international chair of the Technology, IP & Outsourcing Group at Kaye Scholer LLP, a leader of the GreenTech, Energy Efficiency, Carbon Trading and Environmental Sustainability Group, and a partner in the firm’s New York office. According to Chambers, he is a “well-respected attorney, with a well-informed approach [who] provides litigation, transaction work and strategic counseling on a range of technology and outsourcing-related issues” and who “has built one of New York City’s most outstanding transactional IT practices.” He is a past president of the ITechLaw Association and a graduate of Brown University (degree with highest honors and Phi Beta Kappa) and Cornell Law School.
He was named as one of the Top 25 IT Lawyers in the U.S. by Best of the Best 2009, selected as one of the World’s Leading 250 IP Strategists by Intellectual Asset Management, andrecognized as the “highly influential chair” of Kaye Scholer’s ‘“high-powered, very international’ Internet and e-commerce practice” in Who’s Who in Legal, and is listed in Best Lawyers in America. Chambers awarded him “Recommended” ratings in both technology law and outsourcing and found he is “thorough and experienced,”“good at communicating with clients,” “an effective negotiator,” and “focuses on important issues.” He co-chairs annual outsourcing and Green business conferences.Mr. Tanenbaum’s GreenTech practice focuses on contracts, IP litigation, and strategic counseling. He is a patent litigator and won a notable victory before the specialty U.S. patent court, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He frequently serves as an arbitrator in technology disputes.
