Thomas Stögmüller specializes in advice concerning IT and telecommunications, copyright, software and data protection, intellectual property (patents, trademarks and unfair competition) and anti-trust. In these areas he drafts, reviews and negotiates agreements such as licensing, distribution and outsourcing contracts. He also ensures that business concepts, marketing material and Internet web sites comply with the law and meet applicable data protection regulations. He also advises on outsourcing projects, mergers and acquisitions and due diligence within the fields of IT, IP, telecommunications and anti-trust.
Thomas Stögmüller completed his doctorate with a thesis on copyrights and attained his LL.M. from the University of California, Berkeley. He worked as a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Patent, Copyright and Competition Law (US department) and then as in-house counsel in the telecommunications department at the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Transport and Technology, before joining law firms and becoming Partner in Frankfurt and then in Munich.
He is the author of numerous legal articles, a regular speaker at expert conferences, and lecturer for the training program for certified specialist lawyers for IT law. He is a member of ITechLaw, the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights, the German Institute of Arbitration, and the German Antitrust Law Association.
