Marc S. Friedman
Marc Friedman is a member of Sonnenschein’s Intellectual Property & Technology Practice. With more than 35 years' experience in IP and IT law, he focuses on patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret and IT matters. As founding partner of Friedman Siegelbaum, he won the landmark case Chatlos v. NCR Corporation. Before Sonnenschein, he chaired the Sills Cummis & Gross Intellectual Property Group.
A frequent international lecturer, he has published more than 100 articles and is author of A Vendor's Guide to Computer Contracting. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business, and International Who's Who of E-Commerce & Internet Lawyers. New York Area Super Lawyers and New Jersey Super Lawyers magazine included him in the top 5% of lawyers.
Mr. Friedman earned a B.A. from Johns Hopkins University and a J.D. from George Washington University, with honors, where he was a Law Review Editor. He clerked for the Honorable Leonard I. Garth, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
Mr. Friedman serves on the District of New Jersey's Standing Patent Rules Committee. He is a member of the American Bar Association and is past president of ITechLaw. He is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the Second and Third Circuits, the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Tax Court and U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
