Nicolai Wiegand specializes in IT/E-commerce and data protection. His work covers the entire spectrum of IT consultancy, ranging from the structuring of technology transfer agreements and software license agreements to outsourcing projects, as well as advising on technology and IP issues in M&A transactions. He also advises on all aspects of E-commerce and data security/data protection, in particular in relation to data protection audits and customer retention schemes. He also offers advice on all aspects of competition law, advertising law and sponsoring, as well as copyright law. He regularly acts as a litigator for clients. His clients include national and international software companies, content providers, portal operators and advertising agencies.
Nicolai Wiegand regularly publishes articles on topics of software law and is a co-author of the standard compendium for specialist IT lawyers in Germany. He has co-authored the ZAP Arbeitsbuch Praxis des Wettbewerbsrecht (competition law in practice) and provides commentary on, for example, the provisions of the Unfair Competition Act relating to comparative advertising in the LexisNexis online commentary.
