Peter Brown is the national leader of Baker & Hostetler’s Technology Law Practice. The firm maintains offices in 11 cities across the United States, including New York City. Recently, Best Law Firms 2010, a U.S. News and World Report publication, rated the technology law practice group in Baker & Hostetler’s New York office as “First Tier” one of only five New York firms singled out in this field.
Mr. Brown’s practice involves all aspects of counseling on issues relating to information technology, intellectual property, privacy and e-commerce. Mr. Brown is actively involved in the negotiation of contracts relating to every type of content distribution and commerce on the Internet. He also negotiates contracts relating to cloud computing, software development and licensing, outsourcing and systems acquisition. Mr. Brown also maintains an active civil litigation practice. He has been lead counsel on litigated matters involving computer software, telecom systems, outsourcing, financial services, software development disputes, trademarks and copyrights. He has tried cases across the United States.
Mr. Brown is the past Chair of the Commercial and Federal Litigation Section of the New York State Bar Association. For many years, Mr. Brown served on ITechLaw’s Board of Directors.
Mr. Brown has co-authored the treatises Computer Law and Emerging Technologies and the Law. He has co-authored a monthly column on Computer Law for the New York Law Journal for over 25 years.Mr. Brown was a founder of Brown Raysman Millstein Felder & Steiner LLP in New York City.
