José Ramón Morales

José Ramón Morales heads the Information Technology Law Department of his firm.  His practice focuses on IT companies and transactions, outsourcing agreements (both ITO and BPO), e-commerce and e-government projects, as well as digital content protection and regulation.

Mr. Morales has acted for a large number of international and local companies of different industries on technology transactions, as well as on IT-related matters connected with mergers and acquisitions, and corporate reorganizations.  He has also provided legal advice in recent years to several projects related to the launching and operation of interactive services initiatives, including on-line banking and financial services, e-government, travel portals, TV and Internet-based audiovisual distribution channels, and social networking sites, among others.

Mr. Morales has acted as Secretary to the Board of various companies working in the IT arena, including venture capital funds, emerging companies, and joint ventures of financial institutions for development and operation of technology platforms and services for the financial industry.

He graduated from the University of Barcelona and has attended different international programs and seminars.  He is a member of the Barcelona Bar Association and the International Technology Law Association (ITechLaw), a former member of the Board of Directors and current Chairman of the Legal Committee of the Spanish e-Commerce Association (AECEM).
