Helen Anderson is an Associate in the Technology, Media and Telecoms group of her firm. She specializes in new media and privacy issues, and she has wide experience of advising on technology and intellectual property matters. Her expertise covers both commercial and regulatory advice. She regularly advises on issues relating to online business and also the exploitation of content in an online and multi-media environment. She also advises on a wide range of data protection issues including data transfers overseas and effective use of customer data through use of marketing consents.
Ms. Anderson has spent three months on secondment to the UK regulator Ofcom, acting as a policy advisor, and also ten months at Bank of America acting as their sole UK-based legal advisor on commercial procurement.
Ms. Anderson has also written and spoken widely on new media, data protection and e-commerce issues. Recent articles include comments on the proposed changes to the regulation of child protection on the Internet, video game classification and the privacy issues arising from the Viacom v. Google case in the United States. She has also recently given talks on regulation of mobile content and strategies for combating piracy in the music industry.
