Esther Donio B. Nunes

Esther Donio B. Nunes is in charge of the telecommunications and Internet groups in the firm, and she also works in the fields of computer science law, technology transfer, trademark and patent licensing, and other regulatory issues.  She assists the Canadian Consulate in São Paulo and other U.S. and Canadian governmental entities by presenting legal briefings on doing business in Brazil.

Ms. Nunes was President of the Computer Law Association (CLA) from 2004 to 2005, Chair of the Advisory Board of ABDI – Brazilian Informatics and Telecommunications Law Association, and Vice-President of the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce in São Paulo.

She has published articles in Brazil and abroad on telecommunications, computer law, technology transfer rules, the treatment of foreign capital in Brazil, and licensing.  She is listed in the 2002-2008 editions of the Chambers Global’s The World’s Leading Lawyers as a leading lawyer in the communications area in Brazil and in the 2006-2008 editions of the Global Counsel 3000 as a “highly recommended” lawyer in the information technology and telecommunication areas.  She graduated from the School of Law of the University of São Paulo, majoring in corporate law.
