Visiting Amsterdam

Attendees of the 2013 World Technology Law European Conference will have many opportunities to take in the sights of the beautiful and historic city of Amsterdam, Netherlands. This small, seemingly floating city is made up of a network of 165 waterways and 90 islands connected by 1,281 bridges and is truly magical. Amsterdam boasts diversity, nightlife and cultural highlights such as the Van Gogh Museum and Anne Frank House. The Rijksmuseum is one of Amsterdam’s must-see attractions with its 8000 works by artists like Rembrandt, Vermeer and van Ruysdael.

The best way to get around Amsterdam is by bike. Make it a point to stop in at the Begijnhof, a secluded garden and courtyard that offers a hidden sanctuary where city traffic and the hustle and bustle fade away. For the perfect picnic, head to the Vondelpark, the largest green space in Amsterdam that is named after its best-known poet Joost van den Vondel (1587-1679).
