John Menton is an Irish Lawyer with over 17 years’ experience of counselling international companies on all corporate and intellectual property aspects of establishing operations in Ireland. He is a Dublin-based partner in the Irish law firm Arthur Cox and is the Chair of its Technology and Intellectual Property practice group. Mr. Menton has advised over 100 international technology companies on establishing, expanding and maintaining operations in Ireland and has served as a non-executive director on Irish subsidiaries of companies such as Cisco, Paypal and Gap. He regularly advises companies on the formation of companies in Ireland, licensing of intellectual property (including maximizing available tax incentives), structuring of Irish-based global intellectual property trading companies, data protection (privacy) structures and on electronic business issues.
He gained his primary experience dealing with technology companies from the United States establishing in Ireland when he was in charge of the Arthur Cox New York Office for over three years from 1996 to 1999. Mr. Menton is admitted as a lawyer in Ireland, Northern Ireland and is licensed as a foreign legal consultant in New York. He is also a qualified Irish and European Trademark Agent.
